My dog-loving friend treats her pet like a child. She even buys it clothing and shoes, drops it off at day care, celebrates the dog's birthday and cooks meals for her pooch. I say all dogs are simply domesticated wolves, and that pet owners make too big of a deal over their pets. What do you think?
For starters, I never refer to a pet as "it," but rather as "he" or "she." However, I agree that dogs are not humans with tails. Doting on your dog is one thing, but dogs should also be allowed to be, well, dogs -- getting out into the world to sniff fire hydrants and run with other dogs.
